So my car's ignition is in need of a new part. I don't know about anyone else, but my husband is a do it yourselfer. He will not take it "in" when he can do it himself. He's saved us lots of money. That was in the states, now we are in Okinawa Japan and can't read or speak Japanese. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO if you know where we can just buy car parts for a Honda please let me know, pictures of the place also rock. Thanks for helping us out! 

If he is a 'do it yourselfer' then you can go to Foster and check out the junk yard for parts, you might get lucky. If that is not what you want to do then go ahead and check out the auto hobby shops. They can ORDER parts for you in english and then he can put them in no hastle.

I have a Toyota Windom, and my ignition went out. I made the mistake and ordered it through Typhoon, took over a month for them to get it in. Turns out the Toyota dealership had this big issue thinking we were *stealing* a car. I would check the junk yards. There's one near Kinser.. Gate 4 I think??

Must have had a bad counter attendant that time. 

The best junk yards are down going to the seawall outside of Gate 1 - cheap and they have everything! 

Yeah that's a great yard, be carefully though! The cars are usually stacked which makes it hard to search through and see what you are looking for. It is usually good to know JUST what part you are searching for when going to a place like this too.

There is a auto shop off base right off of 58 (baby blue in color) and right after Navel Kadena before the McDonald's and called Payless Auto and I have used them forever - they are so cheap and fast. They do JCI for you too and honestly they are cheaper than doing it yourself - they are one of the few honest places along with Tomi's Garage on 23. Payless will look at your car and tell you the cost (must be paid in Yen) and let you decide or they will tell you if you can do it cheaper. It is the best car place on island!
