Does anyone know where to buy wood here? Do we have anything similar to a lowes or hobby lobby? My husband is wanting to do some projects and be all handy and build things, lol. (: 

Monkey Man store in American village has lots of wood, its the local lowes and hobby lobby! 

MakeMan (monkey store) and also the big store to the left in Naval Kadena. 

The store at Navel Kadena is called DIY...

At Naval Kadena there is the DIY (do it yourself) Kanehide. You can try Makeman at American Village. You can also try Sakumoto, go straight out of Gate 5 for 3 blocks, I think. There is also Sun Sea, they are not as good but the directions are, turn right out of Gate 3 and they are next to Family Mart. If you love working with wood, try the used lumber shop in Futenma town. I use them alot. They are harder to get to but here goes. Turn left coming out of MCAS' back gate. Turn left at the first light, there is an Okinawa Bank. The lumber shop is just behind the Okinawa Bank. My lumber shop choice when I need lumber that matches or for a big job is Marumia (I think the name is right. The directions are hard to follow and you might have to cover the last part of the trip a few times as it is hard to find if you don't keep a good look out, and the directions are a bit wanting. Go out gate 2, turn left onto Rt. 330 (the intersection by Music Town/Wendy's). Continue down the road until you intersect Rt. 329, then 330 becomes Rt. 75. After a few blocks start keeping a look out for a smaller but busy shop on the right with usually a flag man out on the weekends. The lumber part of their store is on the left side of the street. 

My lumber shop choice when I need lumber that matches or for a big job is Marumia That is Marunaka, and your directions were pretty much on target. 

EJA there is a MakeMan much closer to Kinser. Go out Pizza House gate (the one by the gas station) and turn left. Then turn left into an uphill driveway straight into their parking garage. Just look for the Monkey in overalls. There is a pet store, 100 yen store, floral shop, home improvement. They have everything in there. Its one of my favorite stores! 

I am with Crafty Mama, that is the one we go too. I like it better than the one at American Village.

Yes, its in the USC shopping Plaza. Its pretty good! There are hundreds of 100 yen stores. My favorite is the one in the grocery store by the Sports Depo in Naha. I spent 8,500 yen the other day on HUNDRED yen items, LOL. If you ever want to explore with me let me know Soccer Mom. I am home all day with no kids!

I had tons of errands.
