I totally didn't pay my road tax!! What do I do? Where do I go? 

Go to your car insurance place tomorrow and pay for it. You probably won't get to pick up your sticker until Monday/Tuesday but they'll give you a receipt to prove you paid. 

The USO on Kadena.. at the insurance office. You have to pay it in yen.If your car is a 500 plate it will be 7,500Yen, if it is a 300 plate you will pay 19,000yen. I hope this helps! 

Oh and the insurance places have a fee for doing the RT for you. At ACE by the HRO, it was 600Y per RT. 

I went to the USO insurance place today and they said that they don't do the road tax there anymore.

go to the insurance place by HRO on Kadena they charge a $5 fee for each car 

actually, you'll probably need to go to like a city hall or something. I think they can't do it at the insurance places anymore due to when you need the sticker by. ask them (at the ins. place) they'll tell you where you need to go. :)

Our insurance place (in BC motors) will not pay them anymore. I went out to the LTO office near kinsner today and paid it, then onto foster for my sticker. I asked at the LTO office if they would still have the "SOFA" line open on Monday, and she said, maybe? LOL. Good luck.

I havn't paid mine either!!! What do I do now?? Can I not drive?? 

I'm going to go to my insurance company on Monday. I'm sure they're not open on the weekend. I don't think the LTO office is open on the weekend either. I copied this from another forum... "If you do not pay by the 31st of May, they will begin stopping you at the gate on June 1st (midnight). Also, if you get pulled over for a traffic violation, you will no longer be able to operate the car until the road tax is paid. You will need to go to the Land Transportation Office (LTO). Go South on 58 towards Naha, there is a large Esso? gas station on the right after the bridge, turn right at this light. You will see a sign for the LTO office, and turn right following the signs." I know exactly where the LTO is, though we have only one car, live by foster and hubby works on kadena. Hence the reason for not getting it paid thus far!!! I wonder if they are open on saturday?? 

I cant say for sure on all insurance places, but I know the one on Kadena by the HRO office is open Saturday until about noon. 

The AIU insurance office by the Foster Legion gate is open on Sat mornings until 12 I think. 

Ugg!! I'd better get going then! I figured they were all closed today! 

I just paid mine at my insurance company. It was super duper easy AND it cost so much less than I was planning on! Now I have a ton-o-yen burning a hole in my pocket... lol! Thank you all for the suggestions and support! XO! 

i forgot to pay mine. I am going to Wiltec Insurance, outside Kadena Gt 1 (next to GI Bill Pay) to pay it. They're open until 1600 today, you just don't get the sticker until tuesday. 

I got mine done through payless- but they told me to go to foster to get the sticker for my car... where do i go to get that? is there a place on kadena? 

we went to the insurance by the USO on kadena at 10am this morning (Saturday). They said we could not pay it, that they stopped accepting payment for it yesterday.

Forgive me that is what I meant. For future reference however, you can start paying your road tax about a month before it's due through your insurance company SOOOO next year so that you do not run into this problem you might want to consider that. :-)

They should. If you are paying with ACE or AIU which are the only ones for sofa I believe. Mika Chan where do you go for insurance? If you don't mind me asking. 

At Johnnys, right outside the Legion Gate on Foster. Next to Johnny's "office" is another trailer in which we purchase insurance (for the last 2 years.) I would have went to AIU, which is also right outside the gate, next to American Legion, but they close @ 1200 on saturdays. ACE and AIU are the only two types insurance available for Americans to purchase, but many brokers sell them. Hence, our trip to WillTec this afternoon. :) 

Either way though if you have that type of insurance you should be able to go to any office and pay your road tax.
