is anyone going to school to do this or do you already have a career doing this? I am about to start school. I just want to a little more about this job. 

i did it for a few monthes in va.its alot of fun. i loved the environment. i didnt go to school for it, just got lucky.you def have to be on top of your medical knowledge though. goodluck!!! 

I just started Career Step tonight for medical transcription. Where are you going to school for? I am excited to do it!

If you are going to an actual college to get certified for it then good on you. You should be able to find a job in a hospital somewhere.

If you are just doing one of the work from home get rich things that promises you get so much and you only pay this much for the training that you do at home...I personally would not waste your money on it. Seems shady to me. Give your money to an actual college where you know your certification is going to be legit.

im using MyCaa and from what i understand the program makes sure the schools are legit. 

If you are not going to an actual college to get certified for it then it is more than likely a scam. (In other words if you are not paying to to go to a university or accredited school your certification probably is not going to be legit.)

Don't waste your money on some random company that promises that if you pay them $3000 or whatever they will give you a certification for it and then guarentee you so much work and get paid for doing so much (a lot of those are scams). 

the school is on MyCaas approved list. you have to complete the classes to receive the certificate so im pretty sure its not a scam. 

You keep referring to it as a "school" so more than likely it is legit. I would check their accredidation (sp), Just because it is on MYCAA's website does not necessarily mean that everyone will recognize your certification. There are a few different schools that offer Med. Transcription courses. I would do some research before just jumping into a program ;-)
