I know it's a fact of the military life when people PCS but this one is hitting me hard. Yurika is from here and has grown up here and her husband just got accepted to a school in Virginia. She is sooooooo excited about her first trip to the states and I am sooooooo excited or her! But she isn't just visiting, she is going to her new home basically. I am very happy for her but I am gonna miss my best friend very much:( she keeps me laughing and I spend pretty much everyday with her. I honestly couldn't imagine life here without her but now I guess I have to. I guess I don't have a question really cause I know that this will never get easier but I needed to vent. I will spend the last week with her and eventually we will see her and her husband again:(

Aww...girl, I know how you feel. When we left our last base, I def. left a part of me there. My daughter godparents, as well as my best friend in the whole entire world. I'm not saying you'll "get over it" but you will meet new people and the pain will lessen eventually. Until then, you said it yourself...you will see her again!!! Oh, and DON'T BE STRESSING YOURSELF OUT!!!

;( Just focus on being able to see her again, and don't lose touch with her.

??? --- 15 years ago -

I know how you feel. My bestie PCS'd last October to Hawaii. I missed her so much, I took a hop to go see her! lol!

AirborneWife --- 15 years ago -

Oh gosh I was so scared that people were gonna say get over it. I'm definitely not going to stress right now and I will have my good cry the day she leaves. I am just sad thinking about it cause she has been my little rock during the day. She's the one who starts the puking rallies in the yard when we've had one too many shots of sake! I guess we won't be doing that til after I stop breastfeeding! But your right, we will see each other again:)

Oh gosh I was so scared that people were gonna say get over it. Geez how heartless do you think we are? :) Losing friends (even if only temporarily) is painful! But Sara's right, DON'T STRESS YOURSELF about it! Also remember that hormones might make you a little more crazy over it than normal. You'd be surprised. I literally bawled my eyes out during Lion King. The scene where Mufasa died. Like, to the point where my husband thought something was really wrong with me. Now I'm not allowed to watch Disney movies :-p

Sara --- 15 years ago -

Haha. I read an email today, that made me cry for like an hour. I should have known cause it was call "keep the tissue handy" Hormones happen, and they certainly do make everything about 28% worse then it is...lol

I literally bawled my eyes out during Lion King. The scene where Mufasa died ME TOO! Saddest thing ever....

Also remember that hormones might make you a little more crazy over it than normal. You'd be surprised. With my first, I cried on my way to work one day because the person in front of me was driving so slow.

Sara --- 15 years ago -

With my first, I cried on my way to work one day because the person in front of me was driving so slow. That's so sad. I can't tell ya how many times with my first, when it was time for my husband to walk out the door for work, I'd break down and start bawling. Since our base was transitioning, more often then not, he was able to come home...then I'd cry again, cause either I'd feel bad for making him feel bad, or cause he was just so sweet. It's rough, but just think, you'll have some funny stories to tell! At least I think some of the craziness is funny now...lol

AirborneWife --- 15 years ago -

Oh no I don't think u ladies are heartless at all (nor the gentlemen) but you know we always fin those select few who are rude and heartless:) so far I haven't had but one crying spell: the other day I was watching A Baby Story and as soon as the camera zoomed in on dads tears, I was done! My husband had to turn the channel. Oh and I cried when his NCOs said he couldn't go to one of my appointments but that was just me being stubborn and self centered not thinking of what the army needs. The military is the mistress and I am just there to cook:) lol jk just had to make a funny:)

Sara --- 15 years ago -

The military is the mistress and I am just there to cook:) lol jk just had to make a funny:) My husbands shirt at our last base had a motto he had on a mug AND a plaque. "If the military wanted you to have a family, they would have issued you one" Yeah, it stung EVERYTIME I went in there, but it's kinda true they don't give a flying heap out us!

AirborneWife --- 15 years ago -

Yeah Sara you're very very right. It's a fact of life that I hve YET to accept..

Nicole --- 15 years ago -

This is why I'm friends with Nicole. We PCS at the same time. LOL. I don't know if I should be insulted or elated. Insulted that since you PCS at the same time, you can just "move on" or elated that you picked me, since then you don't have to feel like you are leaving something behind. LOL. All I can say is that the guys better get the same next base....who wants to try to find babysitters again?? :p
