Has anyone taken an anxiety or depression medicine while you were pregnant? My sister in law is taking cymbalta and I've been looking up information on it, and there is alot of talk about how it can cause heart defects ect if taken while pregnant especially during 2nd trimester. Anyone know anything or known anyone that has done this before? She refuses to get off of it, even after OBGYN drs have told her its not safe. She just gets mad and switches drs.  

i'm pretty sure i have seen this on tv also.. if this happened call this lawyer you know one of those.. and i have taken depression meds while pregnant but i don't remember it being this one.. 

There are meds that you can safely take during pregnancy (and breastfeeding). I do not know if Cymbalta is one of those. Maybe she can talk to her doctor about switching medications. Also, I don't know how bad her depression is, but the risk of side effects on the baby from the medicine might be a better option than the risk of her depression not being under control while pregnant.
