Hello - sorry for those of you have read this multiple times on OYS now, but I wanted to post it here as well..hoping more people see it. My dog was lost in the Sebille Manor area of Kadena (Molland/Patterson/Gabreski area) around 6:45 pm tonight (Friday 1/29) He was also reportedly seen around Molland/Bennett at 7pm near building 5502. His name is Apollo, he's a medium size (35 lb) red heeler mix. He is very nice, and is wearing a collar with ID tags on that say his name & my phone number. (080-3965-8491) He does not know the area on Kadena at all - so he's probably pretty lost, and unable to find his way back because he was staying with a sitter (I tried to fly out on the PE today), and we live on a different base. Please call if you've seen him, if you attempt to get him yourself, he will likely come to you if you throw a stick for fetch. I'm not sure why posting that my dog is lost would get out of hand. I didn't post it to make people upset..though it's always inevitable that somebody's going to dislike something that somebody else says....the point of posting it was for more people to know he's missing so that I hopefully get my dog back. My daughter is heartbroken right now, as am I. There is a reward, so if anybody is on Kadena with nothing to do..please feel free to look for him. Or if you live on Kadena, please just keep an eye out for him. We've notified Karing Kennels, MPs, and the gate guards... and I'll be putting up posters tomorrow.

I'm not sure why posting that my dog is lost would get out of hand. Well, let's paint a picture. If someone were to look at your listing and post "well, doesn't look like the one I had for dinner" then someone annoying (must....not....name....names....*twitch*) would come in here and be all "ANIMAL RIGHTS OMG" and it would go downhill from there. Just a theory.

that's right over by me. i'll keep an eye out. i'll just be sitting on my porch being bored... maybe i'll stare at the people across the street and see how long it takes them to get uncomfortable and go inside. :D

lol Casey..thank you. I'm assuming he's probably hiding in all those woods over there or something. Can't imagine him wandering all night long. I'll be on my way to Kadena in the morning to look for him. & thank you to everyone else for the good lucks. I'm very hopeful and have a friend coming with me tomorrow, we're going to walk a great deal of Kadena and hopefully we spot him. 

there's a really big field and a bunch of woods behind my place, if he's out there my dogs will let me know. :) 

I'm on the complete wrong side of Kadena but if he meanders over here (Homeward Bound, anyone?) I'll lure him in with one of my cats. 

i love homeward bound. that's a dang good movie. i'm sure my oki will go apesh!t if he hears anything out there that's not a bat. the bulldog... will probably cry. 

He's a bit scared of cats! We had a rescue kitty for a little bit, and he wanted no part of it :) I'm sure he could have wandered anywhere, he has no clue where he is so he's probably walking giant circles. I'm figuring he could be anywhere near Gate 2 or 3. I've heard he may have also been near the USO & the Rocker, not sure...because the girls that told me that said it was at 5 pm and my dog didn't get loose til almost 7 - but they said he was with a white dog (my white dog also got loose from there, but she went back and is now here at home with me) so who knows. Thank you everyone, just keep your eyes peeled. There's a reward...not sure how much is a typical reward amount. I'm thinking like $150, is that a usual amount? 

i don't need a reward if i find the dog. i don't think people should have to be paid to do the right damn thing. 

I feel the same way..but maybe (hopefully) some people will decide they'd like some money in their pocket and will go searching! Thank you for your help, I'm crossing my fingers. I better get to sleep since I have about 5 hours til my daughter gets up..nothing more I can do tonight except hope and pray.

Oh that's ok, I appreciate it. I don't care what kind of crazy stuff people say (not an invitation of course, lol) as long as I know that as many people know to look out for him as I can possibly reach. I'm leaving for Kadena in just a few. Thank you everyone.

He was staying with a sitter and had only been there for about 8 hours before he got out of the fence. He doesn't know the area. Walked and drove around from 9:30-2. We have a pretty good idea where he's at...the woods there at Molland & Moore behind building numbers like 5130/5400s. There were a lot of people out helping us, so I'm very grateful for that. Just came home to check messages before heading back out, this time with my other dog- hoping that he'll come out of the woods to play with her. 

Awww I hope you find him!!! If not at least he has tags, so if someone finds him the will call you! I wont let my dogs in my own back yard without their tags on. Just incase! Crossing my fingers for you! 

Well Im in Sebille Manor. If I see him while walking my female dog (she has a lot of bf's so she should attract him) LOL :) I'll wrangle him. 

Walked around a ton more, just got home for the night. We heard from 2 different people that he has been in the woods behind 5217 Jabara. He was definitely there this morning, someone that lives in a house near there saw him and tried to lure him with some treats, but he ran off. Then another person called me this afternoon shortly after 5 pm saying they had seen him there. Those woods back up to the house he was staying at (clear on the other side of those woods) so my best guess is he's in there. I'm going to leave really early in the morning, and see if I can catch him coming out of the woods. So, if he is to be found, he will most likely be near woods...that's where everyone that has seen him has said he's been. (woods near Molland/Moore behind the 5130 block) & the woods that back up to Jabara and quite a few other areas (not sure the other road names) There is still a reward, and I'm probably going to raise it hoping it will make more people look. I am very thankful for how many people are looking for him, I passed out at least 50 fliers today and talked to many, many people. Thank you everybody for your continued help, I really appreciate it. We have had Apollo for 3 years now, ever since my daughter was a baby and she has grown up with him..so she is very heartbroken right now, as is our other dog who's wandering around aimlessly looking for him. 

That's not too far off from a good many people on this site. that's literally my backyard. wanna come over and have a dog catching party?! :D treats and such. yaaay. maybe i'll leave a dish of food out behind my fence..... and some water? maybe he'll come. he's not sensitive to any types of food is he?
