I bought a new hood skyline I was wondering if someone can do it for me at typhoon motors because the typhoon motors labor is so expensive.

All Abouts --- 13 years ago -

I dont know any shops in particular, but usually now my husband takes to the out in town shops and he says it cost way less then Typhoon motors.

All Abouts --- 13 years ago -

We had the back window replaced on our Delica and cost almost 350 less out in town

Learn how to do it yourself or pay someone. This isn't a job postings site.

A hood isn't really all that difficult- can be done with a couple of basic tools in your driveway.

OP asked for help. I didnt see where they put for free. Maybe they would pay someone just not typhoon. They can be expensive.

yourmomdotcom --- 13 years ago -

I use a place down near the Kinser back gate- they are fast and inexpensive. LMK if this sparks your interest.

Casey --- 13 years ago -

I use B and M motors. bill's a cool guy.

B and M

he always gives us a good deal.

Very true.... a bunch of rip off artists. Horrible service for ANY price. I've ICED them more than once.

Casey --- 13 years ago -

yea.. they're pretty pricey. we don't bother going there anymore.

The last straw for me is when they told my buddy's wife that the problem with her rough running Aristo was her carb... def a problem since Aristo's are Fuel injected, NOT carb'd (shakes head in disgust) They wanted over $500 to fix a problem that didn't exist...freaking a-holes!!!

I would definitely look into off base. Typhoon Motors is a rip off.

Clare --- 13 years ago -

Ofcourse I would pay someone. But thanks guys, Kinser typhoon motors does it but they charges us too much. 300 for just the hood then all remaining is labor.

Is that the quote or result?

Clare --- 13 years ago -

Nothing.

Nothing.

Could you be more specific?

Clare --- 13 years ago -

Um no

Freaky Biznatch Mstar --- 13 years ago -

Learn to do it yourself if you don't want to pay for labor.

Paul --- 13 years ago -

A licensed mechanic will easily cost you $35~$50/hr. Advertise on OYS for someone to do it for you or have your hubby get some guy in the barracks to do it.

It's not a hard job, but licensed mechs have gone through rigorous training to get to where they are and deserve the money that they charge.

**Ashley** --- 13 years ago -

Clare,
I would advertise on OYS like Paul said. I am sure someone would be willing to help you for a decent price. Good luck!

yourmomdotcom --- 13 years ago -

Um no

Good... then my help won't be available to you. GL!!

Just throwin this out here Clare- if someone is trying to helkp you perhaps when they ask for more info you shouldn't be an a-hole..... just sayin!!

I agree with casey. B&M is the way to go. They done some of our JCI stuff. They are relatively cheap and Bill is a cool guy :-)

♥Mrs. Boss ♥ --- 13 years ago -

You could also look into the Kadena Hobby SHop. They are a first come first serve basis though. They will do it for you for relatively cheap but a lot of times they recommend you do it yourself because the time to rent it is only $4 an hour or something like that compared to their labor which is a bit more...

Very true... plus they will help. And putting a hood on is EASY. It's just a 2-3 person job.
