think it'd be hard getting on a flight in Sept? It'd be just me and the husband. Never done Space A before so we weren't too sure how hard it is to get on flights. 

may be alright then, since school is starting. you really never know until you try with space-a. i've gotten back to okinawa during the supposed "busy" season. just depends on the day. 

From what I hear no. There are a few flights a week. It will probably depend on time of yr though. 

he's going to take about 3 weeks of leave so hopefully during that time we can get a flight going and one back without too much of a hassle 

I tried in Oct last year with two kids and couldn't get on a flight, but I wasn't flying with my husband and I didn't have a lot of flexibility on time. Got a flight back no problem but got stuck in Guam for 3 days due to a typhoon and luckily caught a flight with the Marines after the Air Force left us hanging... 

It's Space A. No one is leaving you hanging. I had friends who went in that time frame and didn't have trouble, even without their husband. Space A is very hard to predict. 

September is the beginning of HI's off season. I went at the end of September it was great because the beaches were empty. No traffic on the road to Hana if you're going to Maui.

Perfect time to go in my opinion. 

yea.. but she's talking more IF she can get there on space available travel. it's crazy trying to get out of here on space-a sometimes.

No, especially considering there's no military base on Maui.

They don't permit Space A travelers to go to Maui? 

apparently not. maybe it's just me, but space-a is just how i get the really expensive part of the trip out of the way. we don't go to seattle just to visit all the time.. we go there and then drive or fly to montana. 

If you are traveling Space A...BRING A COAT, wear and pack several layers of clothing or an extra blanket in a carry on. That plane is freezing ice cold! 

i always get cold on airplanes. :P
