We gots it.

Nellis... in Las Vegas. originally.. I was NOT at all happy about this place being one of only two on our list.

HOWEVER.... he will be with the test squadron. I'm just hoping it's like another friends job who works the test squadron...as in.. non-deployable, and a very nice work schedule. because that would be more than enough motivation to put up with the other aspects of the place.

apparently my mom has a friend in every dang place... because she knows a guy who's son is a principal for a school in reno, and he used to be in the Vegas school system. He may be able to help me find a good school for the kids.

-AND! now i can finally, FINALLY work on getting in to a paramedic school. they have a great one there.


my only disappointment is there's no LLIO, Holly, or BTTW there... but it's Las Vegas.. they can come see me.

I liked Vegas and we didn't gamble. We did more eating, drinking and seeing the shows. I would love to see the other Cirque de Soleil shows. We've only seen one. 

i want to see circue de soleil so bad. i have since i was a kid. 

We saw "Mystére", which is the original one. We wanted to see "Love" but the days we were there were there closed days. 

Oh, have you seen, "Knocked Up?" "Mystére" is what Paul Rudd and Seth Rogan went to see when they were high. 

Awesome! We could have gotten Nellis also or Creech...that's awesome about school too! 

yea.. it worried me because two people had been told that. hopefully i can actually get stuff done... i feel a fight for this coming on.

Now, if my husband would find out where we're going. He was also told that it would be sometime between June 21(ish)-Aug 15 that he would find out. 

I have a friend that was stationed at Nellis and then chose to retire there. He bought three houses during his time there. Seems there are a lot of foreclosures there and it makes it quite easy to purchase a nice home. 

yea, we won't buy a house anywhere we don't plan to retire. but my mom said her friend who sells vacation homes is having issues selling anything for what it cost just a year ago. housing market in that area is flooded apparently. 

Buying a home around a base is a decent investment. You can always find renters. 

House prices in Phoenix are down by around 50% right now. Average price for a house is $120,000. Considering we are throwing around AZ for retirement, now would be a good time to buy.

not with a flooded market.. there are TONS of open homes there right now. i don't want to worry about selling or renting and not being able to check in on it myself. too many friends have been screwed by renters or rental management companies.
