First living Marine since Viet Nam to EARN "The Medal".... Semper Fi!! 

You know they where handing rewards out like candy, well to other services. My brother was blown up on his third deployment.. Has yet to receive anything, no letter no recognition, nothing. I feel bad for those who survive such a horrible ordeal, and not even a pat on the back for it Nothing.
Luckly my brother survived and everyday he wishes he didn't. He no longer walks, he was missing half his head and has a number of surgeries to keep him a live. Not to mention all the burn scars he has now. Not once has someone said hey thanks, oh and the VA 35% disability so lucky. 

I'm sorry to hear that DP.... and they do often hand out Medals like Candy. They should have done far more for your brother!!! 35% is BS!! 

Oh trust me KIR my mom has done all she could to fight for him... When he came home it was like he had a stroke he had to learn everything again. As i was teaching Z ABC's i was teaching my brother.
Worst time of my life, i was going through chemo, my brother was living this way and my husband deployed still.. 

Why does this guy got the MoH for retrieving dead bodies?

Five separate trips into the fire fight, retrieving injured as well as dead. Not sure it rates the MoH but still a damned good job.

Surprised that he only has credit for 8 kills though. He must have been firing blind. 

So Dep, are you saying that because your brother was dealt a bad hand that no one else deserves an award?
It sincerely is horrible that your brother has been screwed over by the system. But I think it isn't too much to ask to be happy or gracious for the ones that do. Just my opinion. 

SFC you totally took that the wrong way, what i was stating at the beginning of the war, everyone was getting rewards. It seemed more so other branches IE Army was constantly getting something, where the marines where over looked at the job they where doing. i'm glad he is getting this, and I'm glad he is live and well to be able to receive this reward Vs his mom or spouse collecting it. I just wish other got the same.... Not just my brother, but other people who have done such hard work. 

One should never guess or specualte about the actions of one in Combat unless you were there in the same firefight.At least they did,nt hand it out to some rear echelon personel burning lasagna at the rear or an MP trying to hand out tickets to speeding HMMMVS.It happened don,nt laugh I was there.

QFT- saw plenty of desk riding ZERO's get Bronze Stars etc.... saw a MGunny get a Silver Star (maybe it was Bronze- I can't remember for sure) for being the first American to raise the flag over the embassy in Kabul back in 01 while HIS Marine only got a NAM with a Combat V for crawling through a minefield to rescue 2 Marines who had hit "toe poppers" and blew parts of their feet off. Talk about BS. I walked out of formation on that one- got my butt chewed but I didn't care.
