Does anyone know where there is a junk yard near Kadena? 

Go out gate 1 turn right, turn left at the next light. GO all the way down and you should drive right into it. Ok so those are the directions my husband gave me.

Well the guy we sold one of our cars to just showed up at our house this mornining saying he needs an alternator & Foster told him that he needed to go somewhere to get one because they didn't have any but would install it for him. So my husband is out with him now at the Auto place on Kadena. I figure they'll come back here if they don't find what they need. 

why did he come back to you...you sold the car to him? 

I have no idea. I wish he would have at least called. He just showed up at the door. My husband took him to the Auto Hobby place on Kadena then to 2 junk yards near the seawall and now they are at one near Kinser. I'm kind of peeved because they have been out for over 3 hours and completely taking away from our weekend and what I wanted to do today. BUT at the same time we're nice people & don't want to leave him stranded when he's new here. I'm just hoping he gets home soon so we can enjoy the day. I'm stranded here at the house until he gets back.

No we never had any problems with it whatsoever. We only had it a year & bought it off my husband's old supervisor when he PCSed. Now we are PCSing and just sold it to the guy 2 days ago. My husband is willing to take him around to find the part he needs, but we're not paying for anything. It was just JCIed in March and had nothing to be fixed then either. 

well yeah then sorry buddy it is all him...wow he is wanting you to pay for things..what did he say when he showed up? 

No he hadn't said anything about us paying for it, but he just kind of assumed we would help him out, so my husband and I discussed it before they even left just so that we were on the same page if it did come up. I don't know what all was said. I was back in the bedroom. I thought it was just the guy coming to pick up a grill we were selling until I heard something about an alternator. Then I thought it was one of my husband's friends needing jumper cables until he came back and told me he had to go help him. 

wow...well good luck!that stinks especially since you all are psc'in and you just JCI it...you have any other cars for sale...I'm looking to down size my van... 

It was just JCIed in March and had nothing to be fixed then either. JCI would have nothing to do with it...it wouldn't tell you if the alternator was failing. Did you guys recently buy a battery for this car? 

Well we have one left but we are selling it to a friend of ours so we can use it until the day we leave. So technically not for sale.

We've never had any problems at all for the entire year we had it.

I would have just pointed him to the auto hobby shop, that's it. Especially on a holiday. 

I know the car care center is open...I think the hobby shop is too...or it looked like it was when I drove by... 

Yeah when they left I didn't realize he was going to take him all over. I thought they were just going to the Auto Hobby shop, and I was hoping to find out where the junk yard was to give the guy another option when they got back if they didn't find what was needed. But so much for that I guess. They haven't been able to find the alternator he needs as of yet I guess if they are still running around. 

Next time just take him to a parts store...he could buy a new one (if in stock) and be done with it. 

Yeah they said 2 weeks to order it since they didn't have it. 

Have him take it out in town and have it rebuilt. Probably have it by Monday afternoon for less that $100. That is what I would have done for my car. Chibana Denki will do it, drop it off today, get it Monday.

Cross Hwy 329 Chibana Denki is on the left about a block down. 2 story white building with a garage underneath. I think there is a Yakult store across the street. Sorry, no English sign. If you get to the next traffic light, you went too far.
