Just got an email from hubby:
PUBLIC HEALTH NOTICE!!!!
Please be advised that there is one confirmed H1N1 virus case on island
concerning a U.S. Service Member (Navy personnel on Camp Kinser). Please
disseminate to lowest level and exercise necessary precaution
Great. Once one person gets it the whole island will be infected.lol Just hope the person who has it is alright.
Yeah hope that person is alright AND didn't go to the 4th of July celebrations to infect 50,000 other people :)
Not sure if my number's are correct but 50,000 was the expected turn out.
Wash your hands people!!
These really is little difference than any other flu. I just hope we don't catch it before we head back to the states, I do not want to be delayed. lol. I am sure the bx is already out of hand sanitize, good thing my kids know how to wash their hands and cover their mouths huh.
I do have hand sanitizer though, enough to last until we leave here. I am sure I will have to get more stateside.hhaa
oh great mwr, now someone is really going to believe that even though you put the disclaimer. lol.
That is the plan! lol
When I was on the ship we used to walk along the chow line and complain that we were hungry but they were out of everything except brussels sprouts. Just to see how many people got out of line.

That's mean, my brother farted in his car once with my and my friends and then said "does anyone smell something burning" of course everyone starts sniffing away .. that was disgusting and funny at the same time.
The only person I would be concerned about is my daughter. I will just take precautions around sickly people. As said before, wash your hands and use sanitizer wipes after being in public places.
actually that would make 2 cases, wouldn't it? JU had an article saying a Japanese man living in Australia came to Okinawa for a visit and was sick on the way here but didn't actually fall ill until he got to his hotel room.
This is NOT the first case. . . when it first surfaced there was a child that had it when they arrived on the island. . . . it's just a flu like anything else just with no vaccine or preventative vaccine. If you are healthy and keep yourself clean then you will be ok.
My neighbors friend, got on a plane in L.A. and flew to Australia, and he had to be quarantined for 2 weeks because one man on the plane had swine flu. It was insane.

I read about the guy that had it. He had not come in contact with anyone once he was here though so they dont think anyone else got it from him. Or so I read lol.
This was reported days ago..now all of a sudden it is a problem?
Is this not the way that everything here goes though? Think about it, a few months back stuff started happening in N.K. no one said anything until like 3 weeks into it and then it was a problem. . . ? H1N1 is just another form of being sick, no need to worry about it if you take care of yourself.
I'm really glad the news quit going nuts over it. Now if they'd just drop the whole Michael Jackson story and get on to something more interesting/important...
I wish the news would start covering . . . . . news . . . I can see a day or two worth of story about like "the death of. . . " or even "the spread of. . . " but other then that how about some current events, foreign affairs or something that makes me more informed about what is happening in the world.
I feel like you can get more info on some nights from the "daily show" then you can from the actual news stations. it's sick.
