I don't use them, but cloth diapers are much cheaper. Just like with any other diaper, you have to keep your kid changed and clean. I know some babies will get diaper rash no matter what you do, but I don't see why cloth diapers would cause it to happen more.
Cheaper, WAYYY cheaper. Yes, it is an investment and expensive when you start out. I paid around $300 for 12 of the Organic AIO One SizeBumGenius, which are the closest you can get to a disposable, but you can get the cheaper ones that you use inserts with for around $200 for 12. We were spending $80 a month on diapers for my two boys and I can use the diapers on both of them since they are One Size. That's $80 a mo Im saving. So it'll make up for the $300 I spent and more!
Have you guys heard of infant hygiene ~ I don't hink it's practiced much in the US. It's basically where you hold them over the sink, or sit them a little pot-like thing for babies.

No. ? They have them go to the bathroom in the sink? Ew. Hmmm how would they know when the baby has to go though. I have a hard time with my two yr old telling me!

If you sit them in a pot and they pee, aren't they just sitting in their own pee? I have other things to do than hold my baby over the sink all day waiting for her to pee. If you have that much free time, feel free to come over and hold her.It will save me a lot of money on diapers.
Probably just then put them on the little pot. It's part of the natural parenting scheme ~ I think they basically watch the child's bowel patterns to determine the frequency then just toilet them accordingly. I read about it a while ago. I think it's called Elimination Communication in the US. I think it's practiced more in third world or developing countries maybe India, and Africa ~ I think, where diapers cannnot be afforded as readily.
Some conveniences are worth the cost. How would you go anywhere? I'm sure Krystle would be thrilled if my baby peed all over Chili's. Another reason I'm grateful that I don't live in a third world country.
it just looks like a little bowl.
LMAO. You try to keep my 9 month old in a bowl. I just had to wrestle her pajamas on her.
It basically looks like the insert that goes into a potty chair....it was just a thought :) Something that I read about a while ago. I'll see if I'm brave enough to try it when I have children...LOL
