Someone asked about Kokusai street yesterday and since I found this info, I figured I would share. I have never been but I think I want to head down there today. If anyone has more info on best days, places to see, things to try please let me know.

Kokusai street can be fun. DEFINITELY go to the market. If you like seafood, that is the best place to get fresh fish. And the prices are GREAT! They also have a restaurant above the seafood section that will cook up anything you purchase downstairs. Makes a good lunch!
Oh and when you buy the fish they will do anything you want to it... leave it whole, gut it, scale it, cut it up into sashimi, whatever you like.
They have a lot of cool shops, and different things. You can get a lot of interesting things there. Bring plenty of Yen!
As far as what days... any day is just as good. There is a lot more going on at night, but if you want to go to the fish market, go before 1pm, you'll have the best selection.

It's basically a tourist trap for the most part. 

It's as bad as the Times Square area. No savages in Times Square though.

It very much is... But we still had fun. 

I like Kokasai street, it's especially helpful if you don't have much time on the island but want to sample all the local goodies. :) 

Thanks for the info! I want to go once so I can check it off the list. I have no plans of waiting until the last minute to do things here in Oki so I figured ehhh why not.

BTW: I sure hope the Naked Cowboy uses sunscreen...
