not likely to happen. last time it actually happened, it was only a few days. if anything, you'll be simply rescheduled to fly later.

My NLT date is the 25 I fly the 24... Would they just push my NLT date back or say screw it and try to screw me over... 

like.. THIS 24th? or next month? if it's this month.. that's before anything "may" shut down. you'll probably still be going.

but i would call TMO if you really are that concerned. 

Its the 24th this month... I tried talking to them today and they already had to change my flight due to earthquake damage... They had no clue what to say about what was going to happen if a shutdown actually happened... Same with ipac also 

then i would just wait for your new fly out date. if military pay stops, it will be after april 1. Possibly that's already been extended to april 7th, and more than likely by then, they'll have either fixed the budget issue or passed another resolution to extend the deadline.

Look in the bright side, if you cant spend what you dont have, will be like a savings account you cant touch. Sure you have to pay the bills that are late, however should still have plenty from the time you could not buy any new wanted stuff

Yes. A bill was voted in unanimously to stop congress and the presidents pay if there is a shutdown.

Your portcall is also an ORDMOD that will make your NLT match your flight date. It is all there in the fine print.

I know state side is still cutting orders... As far as getting orders from japan back to the states I do not know...

My mother has worked for the VA in Los Angeles and Sepulveda (pre Northridge quake) for 26 years this spring and another 10 as a DoD employee at NWC China Lake prior to the VA. She has been furloughed 5 times in 36 years. She still went to work each time. She is dedicated. There are Americans who will go to work regardless of a furlough.
