Ok so we bought a dehumidifier last night hoping that it would help cool our living room bc the A/C in our tower really isn't doing anything. The air is barely even cool.

Question about the dehumidifier...is it suppose to be letting out hot air from the side vent? It's the Frigidaire one that they sell at the PX. I feel like it's even hotter in here than before and I'm sure hot air being blown out from the side isn't helping to keep in here cool.

It's not an air conditioner.

I'm well aware of that. Cutting the humidity out of the room might help it from feeling so hot in here. Just wondering if it's normal for the hot air to be blowing out of it.

Yes. It is sort of like how a fridge works. It is pulling water out of the air causing it to condense. It is going to cause heat.

Yeah. I don't think I am very good at explaining this at 3 am. However it has to do with exothermic.

Yes, it's normal to blow hot air out the side vents. Mine does it also.

Many people tend to blow hot air, from their front and back vents in addition to the side vents.

Dehumidifiers can really make a room hot.

thank you.I just wanted to make sure.

-_- I didn't know that

Condensation releases heat. Dehumidifiers cause condensation.

the front of mine feels cool, but the side vents do blow hot air. we put it in the corner so the heat blows down the stairwell, and the cool vapor from the front and side make the hallway a little cooler. i'd just get a fan. if you can find one that is.

yeah we have a standing fan and ceiling fans and it's still hot in the living room -_-
