My husband and I are wanting to go to a "Love Motel" before we PCS....are there any descent ones? It is just one of those things that we want to say we went to in Okinawa :).....Also if u know how to get there from Plaza gate that would be great! And if they only take Yen/American/Visa :) I read the post on OkinawaHai but wanted some more thoughts Thx 

We went to the Water Motel and we looked at the Angel Hotel but they didn't have any good rooms available. They go by hour or you can go in at 11(I think) and stay the night. I'm pretty sure they only take yen and you're locked in your room until you pay. 

Was the water hotel themed? We just want to go for an hour or 2 

FYI, I went on a tour with an ITT tour guide for Spouses Day Away and our awesome little tour guide lady (she has lived in Okinawa her whole life, survived the war...she was 3 months old) anyways, she says that you have to be careful when choosing a Love motel because some are ran by the Ukosa (I dont know the proper spelling) and they have video tapes in some of the rooms and sell the tapes....

The Mint House isn't too far away from you and has different themes. They accept all forms of payment. I would just go straight out near Awase Golf course and drive around. There are a ton on that road.

Yea, go straight across 330 and stay on 85 past Awase. You'll see a bunch Of them in a row. Just drive up and check out the "menu." I think the whole night rate starts at midnight though. Some even have frequent user cards, stay 4 or 5 times and get a free stay. That's second hand info from one of B's Marines though lol

Was the water hotel themed? Kind of. It had a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi, lie down table thing with a shower faucet, and a stand up shower thing. Pretty cool if you like water stuff :) The room was pretty plain in itself though. they have video tapes in some of the rooms and sell the tapes.... I searched the room up and down and was still scared someone was watching. It was still fun though ;)
