About home..Maybe it's a hole-in-the-wall bar, or your mommas scent from her makeup (I miss the smell of my moms Mary Kay and hospital smell...lol).. I think what I miss most is my dads baked beans..I have tried at least 5 times to make them and they never turn out exactly like his. Probably cause he starts drinking before he makes them so he adds more than the recipe called for!! Lol. And I miss sitting under their gazebo in the back yard, watching everyone play in the pool. What about you? 

I miss my baby sisters :( they are 5 and 2 and I am missing so much of there lives!! 

I miss everything about my hometown! :[ I miss riding four wheelers on dirt roads and Sunday dinner at my Granny's house. More than anything though, i miss my sisters.. they are 17 and 15. This will be the longest i have ever gone without seeing them. Their birthdays are tomorrow and in December, and it'll be the first time i havent been there to wake them up and sing them happy birthday :[

This is my husbands first duty station, and the first time ive been away from home. I always lived in the same small town in Georgia... Besides when i lived in Texas for four months, and then 29Palms for three months. My husband has always moved around a lot, so he's pretty used to it.. but it takes me a little longer to adjust. 

I miss family gatherings during the holidays. When all the grandparents passed, they all stopped and I haven't spoke to aunts/uncles or cousins in years. I haven't even been back to my hometown 15 years. 

This is my husbands first duty station, and the first time ive been away from home Same here... and it sucks because i was expecting my first and i was hoping we would get somewhere at least driving distance away but no such luck... Me and my sister did not get along at all but she is definitely what i miss the most which is weird lol 

I miss my momma, but she is coming in November. I miss Sunday lunch at my great Aunts house with my favorite cousins. I miss the 2 little girls that my mom babysits, and of course I miss my dad and brother. I also miss my MIL and my little Sis in law. 

I'm with Holly...I miss the family gatherings and family reunions. I can invite anyone to the holidays here or at any duty station, but it's not the same as family. I miss having my mama here to spend time with her first grandbaby, and I REALLY miss the gyros from Mr. G's back in Chicago... 

I miss my clubs and nightlife. Here it's just not the same, everything is so small. My family never included me in gatherings and crap so I don't miss that. LOL! 

Awwww it seems alot of people miss family:) there are certain things about family I miss..My dads scruffly face when he hugs me and I miss that annoying smell of hospital on my mom after she comes home. I miss hard boiled peanut stands on theside of the road going into GA for our family trips. Stop right at the boarder, pick up a bag, sat it in your lap and drive on while your eating:) hmmmmm..

Whenever my mom asks her where Melissa lives she runs and gets the phone :( I am excited for her to really meet me next month!! and I will be there for a couple months :) 

I just miss my Mom. 

It's not being here that makes me miss it. I just miss it in general. After I moved away from Texas, the gatherings stopped and I haven't seen my dad's family in 15 years. I realize more and more that I do miss them.

It may be interesting to go back through the many threads to see what the same people have said throughout all of them & what has changed in their "I miss...". For me, it's all about FOOD. I miss the FOOD! Yup, I'm greedy! :> Of course I miss my folks but I miss them all the time so.....used to it!

Hahaha Tiff I miss you too!! I'll leave thedoor unlocked so if my pregnant asss is sleeping just come wake me up:) This is my first duty station and his 2nd..He's had a little practice being away from his home but not me:( I miss Outback steakhouse and my husband wants to add in that he misses Golden Corral !

I started this thread to hear what yall miss moat about "home"..a duty station or your real home with parents..whatever u consider your home:) being my first duty station, when I think of home, I think of NC and GA. As time wears on, I will miss less and less probably but since we are going back to NC after this, I don't really know:) lol 

I miss my family very much! Can't wait to see them! 4 more days until we leave this island! YAY! 

Oooo I miss NC so much too. We both want to go back but at the same time, we both wanna see other parts of the world..You know, get some more duty stations under our belt:)
